ARTISANAL NOTE

At the age of 23, Dorcas Apoore founded Advocacy for Social Inclusion and Girls Education (ASIGE), with the vision of empowering women and young children in her community in Northern Ghana through skills based training centers and sustainable livelihood empowerment initiatives. Today she has reached 429+ women in 6 different communities in Ghana through a range of initiatives such as providing sexual health education, sanitary products, and sustainable vocational training.

She is an absolute star in impact and returned to her home village to weave the communities together and support women to become the main income source of their families. We asked her a while back on what it means to be a female leader and the feminine to flourish in which she answered:

‘To be a female leader, it takes passion and determination. To me it means to be courageous to support the women and girls from my community. It means that they know how to stand in their own power and not to wait for others to help them. In our part of the world, being a female leader means being respected by the community leaders. ‘For me it is important that the women come to the center with joy and leave the center of joy. When women are filled with joy, it takes care of the entire family and land.’

We were reminded of her little vegetable garden, her young baby girl that she is teaching what it looks like to pursue dreams and that action and faith make dreams become reality. Every time we receive the bags, we feel her courage, the joy of the women sitting underneath the big tree sharing stories & dreams and we hope that you feel fabulous bringing them on your summer adventures.

Avoid carrying heavy items that may affect the shape of the Dorcas bag
Protect from heavy rain or heat. Should it become wet, we advise to dry it with a soft cloth.
Clean with a soft cloth.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

Zazi items are shipped worldwide with carefully selected packaging and partners with the planet in mind. Each piece is wrapped in an exclusive reusable bag handmade from upcycled Saree and our packaging is made from recycled materials. As express shipping is more harmful on our planet than standard, we aim to use standard shipping where possible.

Shipping Europe: free. Normal delivery in 1-3 working days.
Shipping outside Europe: €19,95. Normal delivery within 3-5 working days.*

Your pre-order, made to order and custom items will be shipped on the estimated date as shared on the product description. Custom items are exchanged only.

The most important to us it that you love your Zazi piece and you may return or exchange items within 30 days from the date you received your item. Please contact our team to return or exchange your item.
